Terms of Use
By creating an account you agree to these terms. They are deliberately short.
1. The service
Econ Cortex lets you keep a personal knowledge base and publish parts of it to a community. The service is provided free of charge and as is; it may change or be discontinued. You can export your data at any time.
2. Your account
Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you suspect misuse. You must be at least 16 years old. One person, one account.
3. Your content
- You keep all rights to what you write and upload.
- For content you publish you grant Econ Cortex a non-exclusive right to display it to other members and visitors for as long as it is published, and you grant other members the right to read and cite it. Unpublishing or deleting ends this.
- Only publish what you have the right to publish. Papers, books and other third-party works may be kept privately for your own study, but not made public or unlisted without permission. Notebooks and text from repositories keep their original licence.
- Cite your sources. That is what the site is for.
4. What is not allowed
Unlawful content, harassment, spam, malware, scraping other members' private data, attempts to circumvent access controls, and using the site to give or sell investment advice.
5. Moderation
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms, normally after contacting you. If your content is removed you will be told why. Rights holders can report infringing content to TODO.
6. No advice
Content on this site is academic material shared by members. It is not financial, legal or professional advice.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Econ Cortex is not liable for damage arising from use of the service or from content posted by members. Nothing here limits liability for intent or gross negligence.
8. Applicable law
Swiss law applies. Place of jurisdiction is the seat of the controller named in the imprint, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules at your place of residence.
